Marcus experienced his first taste of yoga at Power Living, attending a Power Yoga class – and was hooked! With a background in the corporate world, dealing with stress and high pressure workloads had left him feeling depleted and disconnected and battling with a weight issue – yoga allowed him to find his perspective while strengthening, shedding kilo’s and opening his body in a way he felt was so natural. From this space he and his partner Justine developed their love of teaching under the guidance of Duncan Peak – Power Living, and internationally renowned Baron Baptiste. They recently opened their own Power Yoga studio, equalife – in picturesque Hall, Canberra. Marcus teaches from the heart, with a sense of fun, humour, and Power!
Tired and worn down from a regular 9-5 job for many years, Justine decided on a career change and entered the fitness industry as a personal trainer. Responding to an ad in a fitness magazine which promised points towards her ongoing accreditation, Justine experienced Power Yoga with Duncan Peak from Power Living. A life changing transformation occurred, as she found a practice which not only brought her to life physically, but awakened her on a much deeper level. Justine continued her training with Power Living, teaching at the same time wherever she could find the opportunity – gyms, group and private classes, church halls, even lounge rooms! Empowered by attending Baron Baptiste’s recent teacher training in Australia, Justine and her partner Marcus opened their own Power Yoga studio, equalife - in picturesque Hall, Canberra. Justine also teaches Yin Yoga, and is passionate about their kids classes. She enjoys being in the studio, teaching athletes, kids, and their growing yoga community…

Nicholas was introduced to yoga in 1998 by his family doctor. After burning the candle at both ends and not taking care of his body, he had his first ACL reconstruction at a relatively young age. Working long hours in the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor and studying simultaneously at a university, he was recommended to start practising yoga.
At first he thought ‘yoga is not for me’, but later he had to admit how wrong he had been. Yoga has helped Nicholas in recovering from sport injuries by strengthening his body as well as gaining more knowledge of his limits. With yoga he has learned how not to let his competitive nature take over but rather focus on staying true to his own goals. He views yoga as a perfect tool to control one's mind chatter and to increase the sense of being present, something we all seem to lose from time to time.
Originally from the UK, he has been living in Australia since 2003. Nicholas completed his teacher training level 1 & 2 during 2008/09, at Power Living in Neutral Bay Sydney, under Duncan Peak. Nicholas is grateful for the guidance and knowledge that Power Living team has provided. Nicholas is dedicated to continuing the exploration of his yoga path both as a teacher and as a student.
